The main sea port of France
1.Marseille-Fos Port
Located on France’s Mediterranean coast, Marseille-Fos is the nation’s largest port and a gateway to Europe, Africa, and Asia. It handles over 80 million tons of cargo annually, including containers, oil, and bulk goods. The port features deep-water terminals (up to 24m depth) for mega-vessels, with specialized zones for LNG, chemicals, and cruise ships. Its strategic position near the Rhône-Seine corridor enables efficient rail and road links to inland France and Europe. As a historic hub dating back to 600 BCE, it blends modern infrastructure with cultural heritage, including museums and a vibrant waterfront.
2.Port of Le Havre
Situated on the English Channel, Le Havre is France’s second-largest port and a key container handler. It serves as Europe’s primary transshipment point for transatlantic trade, with three container terminals accommodating 24,000 TEU vessels. The port processes 2.6 million TEUs annually, along with crude oil, chemicals, and automobiles. Its deep-water access and multimodal connections (via the Seine River to Paris) make it critical for industrial supply chains. Le Havre also prioritizes sustainability, with wind farms and shore power for ships to reduce emissions.
3.Port of Dunkirk
Dunkirk, France’s northernmost major port, specializes in bulk cargo and energy logistics. It handles 49 million tons of freight yearly, including coal, iron ore, and LNG. The port’s three terminals (West, Central, East) support efficient loading/unloading of dry bulk and liquid cargo. Its proximity to Belgium and the UK enhances its role in cross-Channel trade, while pipelines transport oil to refineries in France and Germany. Dunkirk is expanding its container capacity to diversify into general cargo, leveraging its strategic location near the Dover Strait.

Brazil boasts diverse vegetation zones including the Amazon Rainforest, Atlantic Forest and southern araucaria forests, hosting an extremely rich array of tree species with great cultural, economic and ecological value. Brazilwood, the national tree of Brazil, is the country’s iconic species native to the eastern Atlantic Forest. Its timber features a vivid orange-red hue and was the primary raw material for red dyes in Europe centuries ago; the nation’s very name derives from this tree. Wild populations have declined drastically today and are under strict legal protection. The kapok tree, a towering giant iconic to the Amazon Rainforest, can grow up to 70 metres tall with massive buttress roots anchoring its trunk. Indigenous communities regard it as “Mother of the Forest”, as it provides habitats for countless birds and wildlife. The Brazil n...
